Citibank Canada Credit Card

Credit cards issued through Citibank are popular in the United States but they are also popular in Canada.  In this article, we wanted to discuss options for the Citibank Canada credit card and the benefits associated with a card such as this.  Issued by Citibank Canada, which is an entity of Citigroup, this bank has been around for more than 50 years and today, it still provides consumers with excellent financial solutions.

For the first years after being established, Citibank Canada focused primarily on bank accounts but three years later, its primary service was the Citibank Canada credit card.  Currently, several card options exist so regardless of a person’s needs, chances are Citibank Canada would have at least one card solution that would be ideal.  Interestingly, for the Citibank Canada credit card, most use an Annual Interest Rate or AIR set at 19.90% and these cards charge no annual fee.

In addition, the standard Citibank Canada credit card is designed with a monthly premium of $.089 for every $100 of outstanding balance.  Again, many different card types exist but the following are certainly among the more popular choices.

•    Citi Petro Points MasterCard – With this Citibank Canada credit card, an introductory interest rate of 5.9% is offered for balance transfers during the first six the twelve months of opening the account.  Additionally, the points earned would be for Petro (gas), allowing a savings .02 for ever liter purchased but at participating retailers.

•    Citi MasterCard with PayPass – This Citibank Canada credit card has no fancy bells or whistles but it is considered a good, all-around credit card.  The balance transfer rate is set at 5.9% for six to twelve months and for credit limit, the maximum allowed is $500.  To qualify for this Citibank Canada credit card the applicant would need to earn at least $15,000 income a year.

•    Citi Gold MasterCard – This particular Citibank Canada credit card is popular in that it has a minimum credit limit of $2,500.  However, to be approved for this card, the applicant would need good credit and earn a minimum of $20,000 a year.  One of the primary benefits of this card is that it comes with an extended warranty and offers purchase protection.

•    Citi Enrich MasterCard – For this MasterCard from Citibank, cardholders would earn 1% cash back.  As for the credit limit, the minimum amount is $500.

•    Citi Driver’s Edge MasterCard – To secure this Citibank Canada credit card, the applicant would need to earn at least $20,000 a year for the Gold Card but for the Platinum Card, the minimum income would be increased to $35,000.  Benefits of this card includes 2% cash back rebates that can reach $5,000 of a purchased vehicle’s value, a special rewards program, and a minimum credit limit of $500.

•    Diner’s Club MasterCard – Diner’s Club is a type of card that has a long history but today, this same card is offered as a Citibank Canada credit card.  This card does charge a $99 annual fee but the minimum credit limit is $2,500, the rewards program is outstanding, the card offers a number of insurance benefits, and cardholders would receive a free companion ticket through British Airways.
